Dr. Mark A. Ruiz's Profile

Dr. Mark A. Ruiz was born and raised in the North Dallas area. After graduating from Jesuit College Preparatory School, he attended the University of Houston for his undergraduate degree. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree, and was was accepted to the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Ruiz did his first internship at the New Orleans Naval Hospital, and completed his final internship in cornea. After graduation, he joined in private practice with Dr. Elliot Stendig at the Eye Care Vision Center.

Dr. Ruiz's main focus is fitting all types of contact lenses, treating red, itchy, watery eyes, and eye allergies. He also offers comprehensive eye examinations checking for glaucoma, cataracts, and other vision-related problems.

Dr. Ruiz is very active in the Garland community, and has done many free vision screenings throughout the Garland area. He has been an Ambassador with the Garland Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Garland Jaycees, and on the board of the Garland Civic Theatre.
